It doesn’t matter what type of business you are in, there is one critical piece to any marketing that you do that tends to get missed in most of the advertising and marketing out there…
The Call To Action
We all see marketing all the time. It’s in TV ads, Radio, newspapers, blog posts, and of course on our own websites. But why is it that so many businesses spend a ton of time (and money) creating a picture perfect promotion and miss the most important part? Asking for the sale.
Every promotion you do should have some form of call to action in it. People need to be told what you want them to do.
Here’s 3 great ways that you can easily include a call to action in every marketing campaign that you put together:
1. Call Today!
Let’s start with the basics. This is the most basic and easiest call to action you can have. If you want your prospects to call you and schedule an appointment, make it easy for them. Tell them that is what they need to do. Make it big and bold at the end of your promotion. Too many businesses hide this in the bottom of the advertisement in small print buried in with their company name and address.
Make it stand out. Put it in big bold letters. Tell them what they will get as a bonus for calling and burying today. You want them to take action right now, right? Tell them exactly what to do.
2. Claim Your Free Report Now!
Some people may be shopping around. They might not be ready to buy right this second but will be soon. You need to give them a reason to trust you more and get them to remember you when they are ready to buy.
You can do this by giving them something for free. A free report on the “Top 10 Questions To Ask Before Hiring A Roofer” is a great way to build trust with your prospects. Give them something that will help them make an educated decision.
This report can have the top 10 questions they should be asking before they spend their hard earned cash. Be sure to include your own answers to those questions in the report as well. This way, when they do shop around, they will really notice if someone else can’t answer those questions as well as you did. They will love you for it. You helped them before they even talked to you and you gave them information that the next guy didn’t and most likely didn’t even want them having.
3. Order Now!
You want the sale right? Well give them a sense of urgency. Set a deadline. “The first 10 people to order get ________ bonus!”
This gives it a sense of scarcity. It will persuade them to take action now instead of waiting and maybe not order at all.
Be sure to not offer the same discount or promotion all the time or people will begin to expect it and will see it as a standard. They will see right through it and begin to ignore the deadline. Think about the company that always has a “Going Out Of Business” sign on their door. Its the same thing. Eventually, you don’t even notice the sign.
If you are going to put all your hard work, time and money in to promoting and marketing your business, you need to make sure that you have a clear call to action in every promotion you do. No matter what it is, you need to tell your audience exactly what you wan them to do.
