Recipe For Chili

This chili recipe uses a crock pot or slow cooker. Just cook the beef first in a skillet, then add all the ingredients and sit back and relax while the crock pot slowly cooks in the flavor. Here are the ingredients and directions.


1 Pound Lean Ground Beef

1 Medium Onion, Sliced

1 Clove Garlic, Finely Diced

1 15 Ounce Can of Chopped Tomatoes

1 15 Ounce Can of Chili Beans, Drained

2 Cans of Tomato Paste

1 Tablespoon Chili Powder

1/2 Teaspoon Cumin

In a large skillet, cook the lean ground beef until browned. Drain and add to crock pot. Add the onion, garlic, tomatoes, chili beans, tomato paste, chili powder and cumin. Mix together well. Turn on the crock pot to the low setting and cook chili for six to eight hours or longer.

You can substitute ground turkey or ground pork for all or part of the lean ground beef when preparing this chili recipe. If you have fresh tomatoes, you can cut up about four large tomatoes and substitute these tomatoes instead of the can of chopped tomatoes. Other vegetables such as green or red peppers may also be added to the chili. You may increase the amount of chili powder for a spicier chili.

This chili recipe makes four servings. When serving, if desired, sprinkle each individual serving with shredded cheese. This chili is wonderful when served with cornbread or biscuits and a hearty soup or salad. Refrigerate or freeze any leftovers you may have.
