Mort Walker, the famous American comic artist, says – “Seven days without laughter makes one weak.” Laughter is the sensation of feeling good all over. Laughter can do those things free of cost for which you are ready to spend millions. The benefits list of laughter is so long that you will realize that the only solution to the major and minor problems of life lies with you itself.  Carolyn Birmingham says – “A smile starts on the lips, a grin spreads to the eyes, a chuckle comes from the belly, but a good laugh bursts forth from the soul.” So laughter is the healer of the soul. It is the brush that sweeps away the cobwebs of your heart and a soap that cleanses your soul. Let’s have a look at wonders what laughter can do:

Victor Hugo says – “Laughter is the sun that drives winter away from your face.”A hearty laugh increases blood circulation in body, which creates a positive effect on your skin. While laughing, blood starts rushing in all body parts and makes skin glow. Not only this, it also stops hair fall as well as premature greying of hair. Another indispensable benefit of laughter is that it delays process of aging. Laughter boosts many feel good hormones in the body like progesterone, endorphin, etc. Progesterone protects against facial hair and prevents hair fall. Although it is commonly known as female sex hormone, it is vital to sustain health and life of both sexes.  Endorphin and Progesterone hormones provide essential moisture to the skin and thus can keep wrinkles at bay for quiet a good time.

Laughter is as good as jogging for our heart, lungs and brain. It improves blood circulation and thus protects against many cardiovascular problems. It also helps to keep blood pressure normal. Laughter is the best medicine for diabetics. It boosts a hormone called ‘serotonin’, which improves body’s insulin action and decreases insulin resistance.

Laughter reduces the stress hormones like cortisol, adrenalin, dopamine, etc. Endorphin is an anti-stress hormone, which is released when you exercise and do some muscle involving work. Belly laughter produces enough endorphin in the body which works as a tonic for stress and pain. Studies have shown that ten minutes of genuine laughter acts as analgesic and can give pain free sleep. It is a great tranquilizer with no side-effects.
