Ah, the yo-yo game of weight! Up, down, up down, but never consistent, right? If you are reading this article, then you are most like on the “up”swing and would like to lose a few pounds to fit into that dress, those jeans, to find a mate, or maybe just to feel better and healthier. But it’s so hard! If only it was as easy to lose weight as it is to gain weight!
Well, unfortunately, it’s not. But here are a few tips that will help you lose some extra padding a bit quicker, and most importantly, healthier!
1. Cut out the soft drinks! Soft drinks are the absolute worst thing you can drink, as they are filled with countless calories and loads of sugar. If you cut soft-drinks out completely, you can lose an average of 1.5 pounds per week! If you need the caffeine, though, try some coffee or some sugar free, calorie free sweat tea. Be sure to drink plently of water as well! I personally hate drink water, but I do becuase I know it is nature’s lifeblood. It cleanses your system and increases your metabolic rate.
2. Go for a walk! If we all had to morph back in time before cars, motorycycles, or even trains, we would probably all die! God gave you legs (and hopefully you still have them), so use them! Just go outside and start walking! Try to walk 30 minutes 3-5 times a week. Get a pedometer! If you wear a pedometer everyday, you will always be trying to outdo your previous day’s steps.
3.Don’t eat after 6 PM! Don’t do it! If you eat late, you will gain weight! By eating earlier, you enable your body to burn off some of the calories and fat you took in at dinner, simply becuase you are still active afterwards. If you eat at 9 PM and then lay around until bedtime, where does that weight go? Nowhere, except your butt, stomach, thighs, and second chin!
4.Play psychological games with yourself! Get out those jeans that are a few sizes to small and wear them, even if you have to suck in your gut until you pass out just to put them on and zip them up. Wear them for a full day and look at the mirror often. After you see yourself enough times, with all those love rolls hanging out, you will be even more motivated to lose weight. And eventually, those skinny jeans won’t seem so skinny as the pounds melt away!
5.Cut down your portions! If you go out to eat, when you get your order, cut everything in half and throw it away immediately! Ever seen someone do that? Of course not! Why? Well, because they probably didn’t think of it. But I thought of it for you. Sure, it’s a waste of money, but so are 99% of the weight loss programs on the market that you have probably already bought trying to lose weight! As human beings, we tend to eat until it’s all gone, or close to it. If you throw away half of what you are served as soon as you get it, you will still feel satisfied once you finish your “smaller” portion.
6. Ever thought about why they call junk food “junk” food? Exactly! It’s nothing but junk! Junk food, such as potato chips, cookies, candy bars, snack cakes, etc. have little if any nutitional value. If you want to gain weight faster than Superman riding a speeding bullet, then eat junk food! If you want to lose it just as fast, then cut it out completely!
I know some of these tips are unconventional. That’s the point! I’m not here to tell you the same stuff you’ve already heard a thousand times. Sometimes to achieve a goal, you have to think outside the box. So give these tips a try and see what happens! I’ll go ahead and make a prediction: You WILL lose weight!
