After much of the fights with Film Chamber and other filmy associations of Mollywood, Director Vinayan is finally getting things right. His new movie ‘Yakshiyum Njanum’ has been cleared by the Film Chamber to get into theatres for this Onam.
The movie was granted clearance from Film Chamber, following the producer’s expression of regret for gaining a censor certificate, bypassing the rules of the film chamber. The Film Chamber had earlier opposed the film’s release citing the producer to be not a member of the Producers’ Association.
As of now, ‘Yakshiyum Njanum’ will be released in 71 centres across the state on the 20th of this month.
Cochin, Aug.11 (NR): Director Vinayan can now heave a sigh of relief. His latest film ‘Yakshiyum Njanum’ that was denied a permission to be released would finally make it to the theatres by Onam.
The Film Chamber had opposed the film’s release saying that the producer was not a member of the Producers’ Association.
The meeting of the Film Chamber yesterday decided to grant permission to release the film after the producer reportedly expressed regret at having gained a censor certificate for the film bypassing the rules of the Film Chamber.
Its learned that the Exhibitor’s Association also has exerted pressure on the Film Chamber to lift the ban on the film.
Vinayan however says that now the makers would incur a loss of about half a crore because the film has been forced to be released during the Ramzan fasting season.
‘Yakshiyum Njanum’ would be released in 71 centres across the state on the 20th of this month.
