Completed in 2010, the Stonebridge Condominiums development — more formally known as Stonebridge Plaza — is but one structure and but one phase of a planned multi-phase mixed-use development now growing along the Cuyahoga River’s west bank in Cleveland’s Flats District.
Created by the partnership of K&D Development, a local apartment development and management company, and local architect Bob Corna, the Stonebridge development is creating new buzz and increased economic activity on land that was once a part of Cleveland’s west-bank-of-the-Cuyahoga ‘twin’ town of Ohio City.
Stonebridge Plaza, at 1237 Washington Street just west of the downtown city core, is a 10-story multi-faceted glass-clad assemblage that sits atop several levels of parking, adjacent to the abandoned Superior Viaduct (the ‘stone bridge’ in Stonebridge). In addition to its 108 condominium and penthouse units, priced from about $150,000 to $650,000 each, the Plaza also contains Stonebridge Square, a cluster of retail and office spaces totaling about 35,000 square feet.
The residential units of Stonebridge Plaza are all about the views — views of the lakefront, downtown Cleveland, the winding Cuyahoga River, and the surrounding Flats entertainment district — as seen through floor-to-ceiling glass. Units feature all the latest amenities in a crisp and chic urban ‘loft’ style, serviced by glass elevators, a glazed atrium, and a glazed walkway to the renovated top of the adjacent former Superior Viaduct.
