Even though detoxing will make you feel better in the long run, there are some temporary symptoms that you will experience while your body is detoxing.
What is Detoxing?
Detoxing your body is basically giving your body a bath on the inside. The toxins that have built up over the months or perhaps even years are loosened and washed out of the body. You may not be able to eliminate all the toxins when you detox for the first time, and therefore it may be necessary to go through a detox several times.
The best way to give your body a good detox is by doing a juice fast. Simply drink freshly squeezed fruit juices and lots of water while you avoid all solid foods.
Headaches. Headaches are one of the most common symptoms of detoxification. They usually last for the first few days if you are highly toxic. They can be throbbing, or just put you into that state of cloudiness. It is very important that you do not take any medication to make the headaches go away, but rather take a nap or just rest.
Hunger. Hunger is also something you will have to deal with as you will not be eating any solid foods during this time. But once your body goes into fasting mode, your hunger will somewhat diminish.
Dizziness. You will also experience dizziness due the the hunger and lack of food. This could be your body’s way of letting you know that you need to break the fast and eat something solid. You need to be careful that you do not fast until you pass out, as that could be dangerous.
Increased Body Odor. Detoxing your body will help you to eliminate body odor. However, during a detox your body expels a lot of toxins, and therefore you may experience an increase in odor temporarily.
Fatigue. Fatigue is another common symptom as your body is not receiving any food for energy. Therefore it is very important that you obtain lot of rest during your detoxing period. If you are not used to fasting then you should stay at home from work to make resting a possibility.
