How To Stop Smoking

How many times have we watched commercials on television about people smoking? The most popular addition after the commercial is “Cigarette smoking is dangerous to your health”. Is it not ironic? But people do smoke and that is a fact. Not even T.V commercials can stop them from doing so.

Everyone knows that nicotine is present in cigarettes. It can affect our moods and actions as a stimulant and a relaxant. Whenever people smoke, nicotine releases hormones that affect their bodily functions. Smoking has been here for as long as anyone can possibly remember. The use of tobacco is engraved in our history.

Have you heard about the phrase “women’s intuition”? It is a common term used by men to describe women’s decision-making method. A women’s “hunch” is like fortune telling. If it can happen, it will happen, that sort of thing.

Even with their so-called intuition, cigarettes got the better of them. Women have been known to smoke as often as any man in the planet. Urging them to stop smoking can be hard. Of course, those who tried to stop smoking find it a hard habit to break. It takes a lot of effort to stop something that is addicting.

Women who always make the right choices and give the soundest advice may indeed be the ones that really need help and advice.

There are no arguments. Smoking is bad, period! Even so, people cannot stop smoking. Ironic isn’t it?

Smoking can cause cancer, and nonsmokers are the most affected of all. When nonsmokers inhale second hand smoke, they tend to suffer symptoms of ailments and psychological distress. This is very alarming, those that hate smoking ends up with the possibility of having cancer as well.

There is a smoker saying that goes, “If you smoke you die, If you don’t smoke you die” so why not smoke, right? Smoking causes premature death, meaning you could die at a very young age.

Pregnant women should stop smoking altogether. If they value the life and health of their child, they should stop. Deformities could occur to the child while it is still in the mother’s womb. Smoking affects the health of the child as well. There have been many cases when deformed babies are born, and the cause is cigarette smoking.

There are ways if you really want to stop smoking. You could try chewing gum, candy and even try some herbal cigarette. If the urge to smoke overwhelms you, you could ask a friend or a professional’s help. Clear your mind by doing something worthwhile like sports and other recreational activities. Motivation and the determination to stop smoking is the key to a healthier lifestyle.
