What can you write about?
Bukisa offers a wide range of topics that you can label your articles as when you are writing them, these topics are:
- Art & Entertainment
- Business & Finance
- Culture & Society
- Events & Holidays
- Fashion & Beauty
- Food & Drink
- Health & Nutrition
- Hobbies &Crafts
- Home & Garden
- Religion & Spirituality
- Science & Technology
- Self Improvement
- Sports & Fitness
Furthermore, you also have the option to choose a sub-topic to go with this main topic. For example the topic Helath & Nutrition offers these sub-topics:
- Alternative Medicine
- Diet & Nutrition
- Diseases & Conditions
- First Aid
- General & Mental Health
How important are titles and short summaries?
Very, very important. They are the first impression that your article makes on a viewer. When you search for an article on Bukisa the only thing you will see from each article is the title and short summary- none of the content. Therefore your title must be relevant and your short summary must explain what your article is about clearly.
I don’t know what to write about
If you can’t decide what to write about, have a quick scan through all the topics and their sub-topics. Hopefully you should see something that you have experience with that you could write about. For example, maybe after having seen the Diet & Nutrition sub-topic under Health & Nutrition you might remember an old recipe you have that’s good for shedding those calories- something that could be a big help for those trying to lose weight.
Do I need to have tags on my articles?
Tags are very helpful because when a search is made, articles are picked depending on their tags. if you have no tags with any relevance to your article, it will be difficult to make money with that article as not many people will view it. If you’re not sure what tags to put, there is a very helpful suggest button you can click to display a number of tags that Bukisa would suggest. All you have to do is click on the tags that you want. You can have up to 15 tags.
How do I write articles that make a lot of money?
First of all, be realistic. Don’t expect me to tell you a killer way to write one masterpiece and then become a millionaire overnight. Unless you really do hit the jackpot (which is incredibly unlikely) most articles won’t be worth much. But, the way to see the big numbers is to keep writing articles. The more you have, the more you get. Also, make sure the article is something that people will be interested in, not something completely irrelevant to the topic you have chosen.
Another way to score more money is to check the Bukisa homepage. There are two things here you will be wanting to check. The first thing you want to check is the list of the most popular tags at the moment. It should be easy to see as it stands out against the rest of the page. It’s in a black box going across the screen. If you write articles under topics relevant to these tags and inlude these tags in your articles you are almost guaranteed to make more than an article without a tag from that list.
The other thing you will be wanting to look out for is just to the right of the list of popular tags. It’s in a green box and it is the Bukisa Index. there is a lot of confusion with most people who join about what this is so I’ll tell you here. The Bukisa Index affects how much money you make. The higher it is the more money you make, and the lower it is the less you make. Basically, for every 1000 views an article written gets, it will earn whatever the Bukisa Index is in dollars. For example, as I am writing this article, it is 3.22. That means if one of my articles should get 1000 views, it will earn $3.22.
How do I get paid?
Bukisa pays it’s writers through PayPal so you need a PayPal account to get the money you earn off of Bukisa.
