Kerrville may be small in size, but the Hill Country town is big in entertainment. Visitors and residents will enjoy fairs and festivals throughout the year.

Kerr County Fair

The Kerr County Fair is held once a year. The event allows residents and entrepreneurs the opportunity to show their skills and craftsmanship. The fair also has a parade through downtown Kerrville, contests, a carnival as well as livestock exhibits such as 4H and FFA. There is also team roping, dancing, music, scholarship pageants, and even a bull and barrel contest. The Kerr County Fair even has pony rides, a petting zoo, great-tasting chili, and a BBQ cook-off.

Kerrville Folk Festival

The Kerrville Folk Festival is held for 18 days each year and provides visitors music on a scenic campground. The festival began in 1972 and starts the Thursday before Memorial Day at Quiet Valley Ranch. Food and beverages are available. Cost of attendance depends on the days attending.

Kerrville Wine & Music Festival

During Labor Day weekend, visitors can enjoy the Kerrville Wine & Music Festival. This event is a shortened version of the Kerrville Folk Festival and is only for four days. Original songwriters and musical entertainers take part in the festival and attendees enjoy wine tasting, great food, crafts, and camping.

Texas Heritage Living History Weekend

The Texas Heritage Living History Weekend features traditional country music each fall for three days. The event started in July 1987 in an effort to preserve Texas musical traditions and to highlight Texan history. Visitors will enjoy the stories, songs, and admire chuck wagons, and teepees. Visitors will also enjoy Texas Ranger camp, trick roping, armadillo lore, and vaqueros. The event is held at the Robbins-Lewis Pavilion on Schreiner University campus.

Texas State Arts & Crafts Fair

At the Texas State Arts & Crafts Fair, visitors will admire 200 of the best artists and craftsmen. There is food, entertainment, children’s activities, and demonstrations of authentic Texan crafts. The fair is held each Memorial Day weekend at the River Star Art & Events Park, just off of Riverside Drive. An admission price for an adult for the entire weekend is $10 or $7 if just attending Monday. Children 12 and under only pay $2 at the gate.
