Having a hard time? Not really feeling up to par? What if you could improve yourself in as little as a week? I’ve been wondering about this question for a few days now. I’ve been searching across the web for tips and talking to people at my church about this. So here’s a few tip’s I’ve come up with.
1. You need to accept the mistakes made by yourself and your friends.
We are only humans made in the image of God. We are infallible and bound to make mistakes, so stop worrying about it. As long as you aren’t out there killing people and cheating on your spouses then I think you are doing fine. If you sin, or in other words make a mistake, then pray for forgiveness. Just remember that you are a human and are in no place to judge others and definitely shouldn’t be too hard on yourself either.
2. Start something new!
You need to start something new, whether it be a new job, habit, or diet. There are a few things to take into consideration though. When starting a new habit, you should make sure that the habit is one that is good or positive. I don’t want all of you out there to read this and then go buy a pack of cigarettes. Also you want to make sure that if you start a diet you need to be healthy about it. The diet could and should, I think, bring about a new habit called exercise. This is something you need to incorporate in any diet if you plan on becoming successful. But whatever you decide to do you need to go into it with an open mind and a positive attitude.
3. Try something new!
If you can let go of your inhibitions and just accept invitations to go have dinner, or lunch and just get out there. Then you are trying something new. Just this past week alone, after church on Sunday I was invited by another member of the church to have lunch at his house. He made a beef and potatoes stew. I’m telling you it smelt so good and was very delicious, but it had onions present. I have never been a fan of onions, but I let go of that inhibitor and ate. It was an amazing meal and I’ll tell you why. Because I was willing to try something new, something that kind of scared me and repelled me but I did it anyways and liked it. You are only going to have as much fun as you let yourself have, remember that.
I hope that theses three little things will help you all to become a better you. I know these things work because I’ve witnessed them working in my life and the lives of others around me. So take a stronghold on them and let them sink in.
