The Newly Wed Alicia Keys' Diet Secrets

Alicia Keys and producer Swizz Beatz got married on Saturday while floating somewhere on the

Mediterranean.  But what we would like to know is how she keeps that great body?

It’s been reported that the 29-year-old musician is a fan of Harley Pasternak’s 5 Factor Diet, but

she also doesn’t eat meat or drink milk.  

Here is an example of her daily diet:

Breakfast
5 egg whites and 1½ cups fruit salad

Lunch
2 cups of vegetable soup; large salad with ¾ cup chickpeas, ¼ cup sun-dried tomatoes, ½ avocado and 3

tablespoons balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing

Dinner
3 cups vegetables grilled with olive oil, 1½ cups brown rice

Alicia’s diet adds up to 1 450 calories, 46g of fat, 219g of carbohydrates, 57g protein and 63g of

sugar.

She eats a lot of fruits and vegetables but she also get protein from chick peas and beans.  Most

Americans were raised to believe they needed dairy products for calcium and meat products for protein

and iron, when in fact, these food groups are only “A” source of calcium, protein & iron, not “the”

source.  It is still, however, debatable when no meat diet is good for you.  

Keys never eats fast food.   After she saw the documentary called Food Inc, she decided to swear off

fast food for life.  She does have a weakness, “Delicious, warm soft bread is an indulgence of mine,”

Keys says.  

Alicia Keys likes to eat foods that make her feel good afterward so she chooses foods like almond

milk, grilled fish, spinach and she”ll put aloe vera in her juices.  She did say that she likes

cleanses too but they have to be done correctly and with discipline to get the right results.

Keys healthy eating habits started a long time ago; she has been eating healthy since 12 years old.
