Sugar-Free Chocolate Strawberry Desire.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

BAKING TIME: 30 minutes

COOKING TIME: 10 minutes

SERVES: 4 individuals.

160 g self-rising flour

80 g cocoa

3/4th tsp baking soda

1/8 tsp salt

1 tsp baking powder

60 g non dairy creamer

80 ml vegetable oil

100 ml milk, plus 1 tbsp milk

3/4th tsp vanilla essence

2 eggs, separated

75 g artificial sweetener

200 g sugar –free chocolate

100 ml low-fat milk

100 g fresh strawberries

Method:

  1. Mix the flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt, baking powder and non-dairy creamer and set aside.

  2. Place the oil in another bowl. Add milk, vanilla essence and the egg yolks.

  3. Beat the two egg whites

  4. Slowly add the sweetener to the egg whites.

  5. Mix the flour mixture with the oil mixture and beat for couple of minutes till it looks lighter in color.

  6. Fold in the egg whites.

  7. Bake in two greased and floured six-inch cake tins at 175’ C for 30 minutes.

  8. Check for doneness with a toothpick.

TO PREPARE THE CHOCOLATE SAUCE:

Melt the chocolate in the microwave for few seconds. Warm the low-fat milk, Heat the chocolate and milk together till slightly sauce like.

Further, pour the chocolate sauce over one chocolate sponge layer that is just baked out. Put the second layer of the sponge over the sauce and drizzle the remaining sauce on it.

Decorate with strawberries.

TIP: Add a touch of strawberry essence to the melted sugar-free chocolate to avoid any after-taste.
