How to Get a Nuke on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

We’ve all been on the wrong side of this equation.  The score is 95-80 in your team’s favor, and then all of a sudden, you hear that dreaded sound that a nuke is on it’s way.  Then, seconds later, “DEFEAT” flashes across your screen in big red letters.  You’ve been nuked by an opposing player and your team has lost!

Well, wouldn’t it be nice to turn the tables and call in a nuke of your own?  Sure it would!  There’s no better feeling in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 than dropping a nuclear bomb on your enemies and winning the game for your team!

The hard part is that to get a nuke, you have to get a killstreak of 25 without dying.  We all know that, and it’s easier said than done.  But what is the best way to get to a nuke?

The first thing you will want to do is set one of your perks to “Hardline”.  This way, you can achieve your killstreak rewards with one less kill–something you already know, I’m sure.

Next, it’s all in how you order your killstreak rewards.  The easiest killstreak to achieve that gets you the most kills, and on to your next killstreak reward, is “Harrier Strike”.  With the Hardline perk turned activated, you will only need five consecutive kills without dying to get the “Harrier Strike”.  Five kills isn’t all that difficult to achieve.

Your next killstreak reward should be set to “Chopper Gunner”.  With the hardline perk activated, you will need only 10 consecutive kills without dying to get Chopper Gunner.  Once you have your Harriers in the air, assuming your enemies don’t shoot them down to quick, you will get your 5 kills to get to Chopper Gunner pretty quickly.  Once you are get Chopper Gunner, you will only need 14 kills to get your nuke!  And as you know, you can really mow ’em down with a Chopper Gunner, especially if you are playing on a bigger board with fewer buildings, such as Wasteland or Afghan.

Now, sometimes, you will only be able to get 9 or 10 kills with your Chopper Gunner before it expires.  If this happens, find a good hiding spot as soon as possible and consider sniping or waiting for your enemies to come to you.  This will be the best way to get your last four or five kills so you can get your nuke and end the game!

Just remember not to run around like a crazy man looking for enemies to shoot.  This will get you killed faster than anything and prevent you from getting your first and most important killstreak reward, the Harrier Strike.  When you are starting out, find a good hiding spot and try sniping or waiting for your enemies to come close and then pop put and ambush them!

So remember these three killstreak rewards to have the best possible chance at getting a tactical nuke, and remember to turn on Hardline as on of your perks:  Harrier Strike, Chopper Gunner, and then Nuke!  This killstreak reward combination is your best chance at a nuke!
