I’ll just bet that what comes to mind is a “picture” of a black dog. And, depending on your past experience with dogs it could be a sweet little black puppy or a I’ll just bet it’s a “picture” of a black dog. And, depending on your past experience with dogs it could be a sweet little black puppy or a ferocious black beast…or something in between. Each of these pictures creates a different feeling and the feeling creates an action or reaction. The practice of using images to strategically assist messaging in communications is referred to as “visual communications” and is an important marketing strategy. It is important to create advertising & marketing using images that allow your audience to construct meaning and take action that is profitable for you.
