Nouveau Antique Art Bar is an interesting bar and hangout in the midtown area of the city, mainly because of the inner décor of the bar. The art inside is art nouveau which is an art that was coming into life between the end of the 19th century until the World War I era throughout Europe and the Americas; the artists during this time wanted to create art for art’s sake and you could see the influence from furniture to glass and that is what you will see inside the bar with their extensive collection of Tiffany’s lamps all over the bar.

The hangout bar is located at 2913 Main Street and the hours of operations are Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. and remain closed on Sunday, and happy hour with a dollar off from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. And the prices are the typical drink prices that you will find in mid or downtown Houston which is between $7 to $10 ($10 for a martini), and the service is average you may have a good day with it or a bad day.

From the outside you may think that the quaint painted façade is nice but it just looks like a big warehouse with good parking (which is a plus), however the art inside is spectacular, where the famous lamps cast a light over the richly stained antique furniture from every angle. The crowd that frequents the hangout bar is varied from artsy hipsters to corporate executive in designer suits.

Nouveau Antique Art Bar tales an interesting approach to the evening entertainment, as if you get in early the music that is played will not destroy your eardrums and you will be able to have a pleasant conversation, however do not expect to hear any techno, hip-hop or rap music as it does not go with the flow of the décor, and after a certain time the music will pick up so to have a more party atmosphere. They have special features during the days of the week like Tuesday is Ladies Night and therefore happy hour prices for the ladies are guaranteed all night, Wednesday are really great with their lounge night which features Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra music.
