How to Make a Pumpkin Martini

The pumpkin martini is a favorite fall cocktail. There are several different variations on this classic drink, all of which have their own appeal. In this article, I’ll show you how to make three different types of pumpkin margarita. Try them all and find the one you like best. Enjoy!

Classic Pumpkin Martini

Ingredients:

  • ½ ounce Sylk Cream liqueur
  • 2 ounces vanilla vodka
  • ½ ounce pumpkin liqueur*
  • 1 teaspoon whipped cream
  • Cinnamon stick

Directions:

  1. Fill a shaker with ice. Add the Sylk Cream liqueur and vodka.
  2. Shake well to combine. Add the pumpkin liqueur and shake well again.
  3. Strain into a chilled martini glass, top with whipped cream, and garnish with the cinnamon stick.

This recipe yields approximately one serving.

*If pumpkin liqueur cannot be found, substitute pumpkin spice syrup or pumpkin puree.

Spicy Pumpkin Martini

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ ounces whiskey
  • 1 ½ ounces Pumpkin Spice liqueur*
  • ½ ounce triple sec
  • ¼ ounce cream liqueur
  • Grated nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Fill a shaker with ice. Add all ingredients except nutmeg.
  2. Shake vigorously for several moments to combine.
  3. Strain into a chilled martini glass, and sprinkle the grated nutmeg on top to garnish.

This recipe yields approximately one serving.

*Hiram Walker’s Pumpkin Spice liqueur is recommended for making a pumpkin martini. However it may be difficult to find outside of the fall months. Substitute seasoned pumpkin puree, if necessary.

Ultimate Pumpkin Martini

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces pear infused vodka*
  • 2 ounces pumpkin butter
  • 1 ounce triple sec
  • 1 part simple syrup
  • Pinch each cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and ginger
  • Grated nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all ingredients except nutmeg.
  2. Shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is frosty and beaded with sweat.
  3. Strain the pumpkin martini into chilled martini glasses. Garnish with grated nutmeg.

This recipe yields approximately 2 servings.

*Grey Goose La Poire is a great brand of pear infused vodka to use for this recipe, however any brand will work. Use your personal favorite.
