How to do a Home Manicure

Every lady should know that well maintained nails are a must. When we speak, we gesture with our hands to express ourselves, which is why it is important to have clean and manicured nails. If a picture speaks one thousand words, your hands could narrate the entire book! Here are some simple instructions on just how to treat those talons:

  • Wooden cuticle wand

  • Nail clipper

  • Nail file

  • Nail polish remover

  • Cotton/cotton swabs

  • Base coat and topcoat

  • Soft pink nail polish

  • White nail polish

Step 1: Soak, soak, soak!

It is crucial to soak hands in warm water to soften the cuticles – for a dash of luxury, add a moisturising oil.

Step 2: Clean

With a cotton swab, remove any remaining nail polish from nails. Using the “cuticle wand”, gently push back

soft cuticles, taking care not to tear or damage them.

Step 3: Clip and File

Now you must clip your nails and, using the hard file, shape your nails. (Tip: the nail tip should mirror the

            nail base.)

Step 4: Paint *

Start off with a clear base coat. Then add a coat of pink, wait for it to dry and add another coat. After this,

create the white tip by carefully dabbing the brush repeatedly over the tip of the nail. Try to keep the line

thin and uniform. Top this off with a top coat and you are ready to show off your beautiful nails!

* It is important to remember to let every coat of polish dry properly before applying the next coat. Ten minutes of extra waiting could save you from having to start from scratch.
