The Calories Found in Seafood

Here are the calorie counts for each of the common seafood found on this planet. The list will help you decide what type of seafood to eat for your own diet. I have divided the list into two categories, one for the fishes and the other for the other consumable sea creatures.

The following is a list of fishes with their calorie counts:

Cod, serving size: 100g, calorie count: 80.

Cod, type:deep-fried in batter, serving size:100g, calorie count:247.

Fish fillet, type: baked in crumbs, serving size:100g, calorie count: 188.

Fish fingers, serving size:4 pieces, calorie count: 200.

Haddock. type: smoked fillet, serving size: 100g, calorie count: 81.

Herring fillet, serving size: 100g, calorie count: 190.

Kipper fillet, type: grilled,serving size: 100g, calorie count: 255.

Mackerel fillet, type: fresh, serving size: 100g, calorie count: 220.

From the list above, you see that the fish with the highest calorie count is the Whitebait with a calorie count of 525 per 100 gram serving. For the same amount of serving, the fish with lowest calorie count is the Cod with a calorie count of 80. If you consume on the basis of the serving size for each of the fishes above, you will find that a Salmon has the lowest calorie count of 71. You can also see that the portion size for fresh trout is 225 grams instead of 100 grams but if you divide the calorie count of 281 with 225 and multiply the answer with 100 grams, you will get 125 grams. If you are eating only 100 grams of trout, the calorie you get is 125 grams.

From the list above, you can see that a serving of scampi which is deep-fried in breadcrumbs with the serving size of 100 grams has the highest calorie count of 237. While Oysters of the same serving size has the lowest calorie count of 65.
