Romantic Songs by Gospel Artists

Wedding season is right around the corner, so I thought I would share a list of my top five Christian love songs for weddings, Valentine’s Day, and other romantic occasions. These are love songs that were all recorded by artists who have recorded gospel albums and includes Chris Rice, Debbie Boone, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith and Steven Curtis Chapman. I have selected each Christian love song for the beauty of the music and the romance of the lyrics. If you need a special song for your  wedding, a romantic playlist for Valentine’s Day, or need a romantic playlist for another special occasion, you will definitely want to consider adding these beautiful and meaningful Christian love songs.

Whether you need a Christian love song for Valentine’s Day, a wedding, anniversary, or other romantic occasion, here is my top list of top five Christian love songs which I compiled in 2008. To see my updated list go to Top ten gospel love songs.

5. “When Did You Fall” – Chris Rice

(This Christian love song is from the album Amusing, August 23, 2005)

When did you fall in love with me?
Was it out of the blue
‘Cause I swear I never knew it
When did you let your heart run free?
Have you been waiting long?
When did you fall in love with me?
When did you fall in love?

4. “You Light Up My Life” – Debbie Boone

(From the album You Light Up My Life, the 1977 single hit spent 10 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and won Debbie a Grammy award)

So many nights I sit by my window
Waiting for someone to sing me his song
So many dreams I kept deep inside me
Alone in the dark but now
You’ve come along…

3. “I Will Remember You” – Amy Grant

(This is the seventh and final single from Amy Grant ‘s twelfth album, Heart in Motion which was released in March 1992)

I will be walking one day
Down a street far away
And see a face in a crowd
And smile
Knowing how you made me laugh
Hearing sweet echoes of you from the past
I will remember you

2. “Love of My Life” – Jim Brickman featuring Michael W. Smith

(From the album Destiny, January 26, 1999)

You are the love of my life
And I’m so glad you found me
You are the love of my life
Baby put your arms around me
I guess this is how it feels
When you finally find something real
My angel in the night
You are my love
Love of my life

1. “I Will Be Here” – Steven Curtis Chapman

(This is my very favorite Christian love song from the album More To This Life which released in 1989)

Tomorrow morning if you wake up
and the sun does not appear
I will be here
If in the dark we lose sight of love
Hold my hand, and have no fear
‘Cause I will be here
