How to Make Kung Pao Chicken

Kung Pao chicken can easily be made from home. You will need  chicken, boned and skinned, oyster sauce , cooking oil , dried red chilies , minced garlic , stalks celery, diced , red bell pepper, cut into 1−inch squares , bamboo shoots, sliced and drained, cornstarch dissolved in 1 tablespoon water , cornstarch and roasted peanuts.

Next, you will need your sauce. You will need Chinese rice wine or dry sherry ,  Chinese black vinegar or balsamic vinegar ,  chicken broth ,  soy sauce , hoisin sauce , sesame oil , chili garlic sauce and sugar.

Next, you will need to prepare your chicken and marinade it. You will need to cut your chicken into 1−inch pieces. Next, you will marinade chicken with oyster sauce in a bowl and let it sits for 10 minutes. Next, combine sauce ingredients in a bowl.

Next, put up a wok to heat and add 2 tablespoon of oil and coat the sides. Next, add chillies and cook, until fragrant for 10 seconds. Next, add chicken and stir fry for 2 minutes and then remove with chilies. Start a new empty wok with ½ tablespoon of oil to it. Coat the sides. Add garlic, and cook until fragrant. Next, add celery, bell pepper, and bamboo shoots and stir fry for 1 and ½ minutes. Next, put back chicken and chilies to the wok and stir fry for 1 minute. You would then add sauce and bring to a boil. To finish, you would add cornstarch, and cook, until boils and thickens and add peanuts to coat. You have have your Kung Pao dish.
