Whatever that is in your hands today is capable of making what you want to be tomorrow. Don’t underrate yourself; don’t look at your meager resources; don’t look at your limited education and family background. Just begin to work with the little in your hands. Work as if it all depends on you and pray knowing that the answer comes from God. You cannot answer your prayers so work because you can work.
Every big and genuine business started with as little as an insignificant thought in the heart of someone. The thought is later hatched as an egg and it will begin to grow to what you can now call a big business empire. Even the whole universe as big as it is, started little in the heart of God. God started to create the world bit by bit; one after the other and it took Him a total of six days to complete the creation. This does not mean that God cannot create the whole world in a twinkle of an eye, but He laid a principle down for us to follow: to start everything little until we progress to where He wants us to be.
The formation of man also takes a gradual process that will later metamorphose into a full blown man. Man starts as a fetus and later delivered as a baby. The baby begins to sit, crawl, stand, walk, run and talk; then becomes an adult. The process starts from a little fetus, to fully grown adult. Take things easy and start counting your alphabets from A,.B,C, D and so on. Do not be over ambitious; wait for the fulfillment of God’s time in your life. There is time for everything. “For everything there is a season, and a time for very purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;” Eccl. 3:1-3.
Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ lived for thirty three years on earth. Thirty years, he used to prepare for his ministry and his ministry only lasted for three years. He was not over ambitious even though he knew where God was leading him to; but he waited patiently for the fullness of God’s time in his life. When he launched into his ministry, he didn’t start his miracles with raising the dead, but he started with little miracles like turning water to wine.
All these are examples to encourage and let you know that no matter how little you are today, if you are focused, you will one day be great. Try to see yourself beyond what you are now and believe that you will surely become what God says you will be. Work patiently and persevere until you succeed, because God works; Jesus Christ works; the great Biblical champions worked, so you too must work.
