You may not realize this, but lemons can disinfect. They’re perfect for a cutting board or cutting block. Simply cut a lemon in half and run it over the surface that you need disinfected.

This is a more common one although some people still don’t know it. Lemons can stop the browning that will happen to food that’s been sitting out. Just cut a lemon in half and squirt a little bit on apples or pear or even bananas. It will also get rid of the browning that will happen with guacamole if you stir it in.

Lemons will remove food stains that happen on plastic, for instance a plastic cutting board and on light wood surfaces. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze in on the surface that has stains, rub it and let it sit for 20-25 minutes and rinse it off. The stains should come off as well.

Tea stains are another difficult stain that can be removed with lemons. Squeeze lemon juice into glass and dilute it with water so it’s half and half. Use a Q-tip and rub the lemon water on the stain. Rinse with cold water.

Not only are lemons good for cleaning but also make for good house decorations. Get a decorative bowl and fill it with lemons. It’ll make for a great center piece.
