Now that you have made the decision to travel to Tropical North Queensland for a holiday, the next step will be to discover which wonderful region in which you want to find your accommodations. This area has exceptional places to stay all over it but one special place you should consider, known as the Whale Watching Capital of the World, is the Hervey Bay area.

This area is close by the Great Barrier Reef, toward the more southern part of the reef, and driving to the Brisbane airport is less than four hours. If you fly there from Brisbane it will only be about a 45 minute flight down to Hervey Bay.

Traveling here will expose you to a natural habitat not affected by humans, lots of history, along with beautiful beaches. There are also many amenities including picnic and barbeque locations, playgrounds, shower facilities, beach equipment rental businesses, plus 14km of bike and wheelchair paths that have many public restrooms along the way. A perfect place to visit for doing nothing or choosing one of more of the water sport adventures.

Most people watch the whales during July to October, this is the best time of year for seeing these whales; but fishing is popular all year round here. Other ways to see the sights are a reef tour on a guided boat, a day trip to Lady Elliot or Fraser Island, or sailign on a catamaran. You can also charter a flight over Fraser Island and be able to see all of it from the air.

You will have a great time at the entertainment place that has a rock climbing wall, go karts, a water slide, and miniature golf, all great times for those with kids along on the trip. The local area also includes the Pioneer Village, art galleries and museums. A fantastic place to stay with many varied types of accommodations to satisfy all the travelers, Hervey Bay is one of the best in the Tropical North area.
