How to Backflip on a Snowboard

Alright, so first things first before attempting a backflip on a snowboard you should be very confident on your board and have lots of experience hitting jumps and doing tricks. It would also help if you could do backflips on the ground, off a diving board, and on a trampoline, doing this will help you get used to the motion and the feeling of performing backflips. You should not preform a backflip unless you feel 100% confident and committe

1- Approach the jump with enough speed to definitely clear the jump. ( take a few practice jumps just to get a feel of how much speed you will need to clear the jump).

2- Once you get close to the jump bend your knees and get in a possession that will give you momentum for the flip.

3- Once you’re three fourths up the jump start performing the flip by leaning backwards and swinging your hands upwards and behind you, to give you the momentum to preform the flip.

4- While you are preforming the flip I recommend you hold a grab because it will help with the rotation and keep you in a ball.

5- While in the air you’ll see the sky first, and then you’ll see the ground. When you see the ground start getting out of your backflip position and get into a landing position.

6- Get your board parallel to the ground and take impact.

7- Congratulations you landed a backflip.

Biggest tip: My biggest tip would be to practice backflip on the ground first and really get used to the motion. Also be confident and committed this trick is actually really easy if you are really confident and are fully committed.
