You can start your adventure by taking the NBC Studio Tour. The entrance for the tour is at 49th street between 5th and 6th Avenue. Tours depart every 30 minutes from the store Monday to Thursday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and cost under $20 per person and takes a little over an hour to complete. Fridays and Saturdays the tour departs every 15 minutes from 9:30am to 5:30 pm. Sundays also depart every 15 minutes, but the hours are 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. The tour takes you to the Sharp History Theatre which has a huge movie screen and tells you about the history of NBC. Depending on availability, you will then get to visit a few of the NBC studios where some of your favorite shows are filmed such as Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Today Show, Dateline NBC or the NBC Nightly News. A big plus is you never know which of your favorite TV personalities your tour may run into, so have that camera ready!
Now that you’ve completed the Studio Tour, head for the clouds and take a ride up to the Top of the Rock! The entrance is on 50th Street, one block over from the store The observation deck is 70 floors high and offers great views of Manhattan. You can also choose to have your picture taken at the top for a great memento. The Top of the Rock tours depart everyday from 8:00am to 11:00pm.
Next you can visit the world famous Radio City Music Hall. Besides all the great shows you could see there, you can take a backstage tour and even meet the Rockettes. The tours depart everyday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
If you are interested in the history of Rockefeller Center, you can take the Rockefeller Center Tour. You can choose to have a guided tour or a self guided tour with headsets narrating the way. The Concourse is also how all the buildings in the Plaza connect without having to go outside, plus you can catch the subway to your next New York destination.
