Tonight, American Idol shows a footage of Randy Jackson video when he was playing with the famous rock band Journey. According to wikipedia, Randy played the bass for Journey and he was with Journey from 1983-1986. The members of journey were Neal Schon, Ross Valory, Jonathan Cain, Deen Castronovo, and Arnel Pineda. Randy album with journey is Frontiers, Raised on Radio.

Randy Jackson was chosen out of everyone else to replaced Ross Valory for the album Raised on Radio. Randy Jackson did two albums with them and also lived with the band. The band went into hiatus for ten years and Randy Jackson was temporary and didn’t return after the two albums even he remained friends with the band and help them out in several projects.
