Meditation is an ancient way to relieve stress and get in touch with your spirituality-and your spirit.
We all run from duty to duty, stressed in the fast paced world we live in. Working 40 hour work weeks and taking care of houses and families isn’t the easiest thing, especially with the declining economy. Everyone needs to relax, and meditation is an excellent way to relax and de-stress.
Meditating for just five minutes each day is a way to take yourself away from the daily rush and into a calm area. In the morning before you go into your daily routine, five minutes can be the difference between you snapping at a coworker and losing your job and you being able to hold it in until the day is over. Meditation for five minutes can be the difference between tossing and turning for three hours and sleeping for a full eight.
Today, take a break and try this exercise:
Sit down cross legged and close your eyes.
Count to ten; with each number, banish one thing that is stressing you out from your mind.
Clear your mind entirely.
Let your mind wander for a few minutes over anything and everything.
Count backwards from ten, and when you reach zero, open your eyes; you are now ready to continue your day.
