The suspects have been arrested and taken into custody. Extortion is when an authority uses their power to extract money, property, illegally and do not belong to him or her. They may use threat, ransom or blackmailing and it’s considered a misdemeanor. This could be in asking for fees that are higher than usual or using force to demand money. The suspects were Tarino Lightbourne, an ambulance driver and Obie Wilchcombe, a tourism minister according to the AP.

The two suspects were detained on Friday. Senator Pleasant Bridgewater was arrested on Thursday for charged with abetment to extort and conspiracy to extort according to the AP. She was released on a $40,000 bail. John Travolta filed a complaint regarding extortion according to authorities but it didn’t reveal what was the factor involved. The suspect Lightbourne was resisting police and Wilchcombe was investigated and released by police but they’ll continue to investigate the case according to the AP.
