Sushi Hana is one of the best sushi restaurants in Katy; Katy is west of Houston and it has grown considerably in the last ten years and has now about eleven thousand habitants and it is mostly known for their great school district and the Katy Mills mall where one can bargain shop.

But Sushi Hana has made its mark in Katy, and the restaurant is located at 1638 South Mason Road and the hours of operations are from Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The restaurant is quite big and the service is good even though the prices are a little on the high side and recently just went up, but it is a great experience to have at least once.

For starters you can order from the grilled appetizer section and choose from the baked salmon maki which is baked salmon rolled with crabmeat and a teriyaki sauce for $8, the yakitori which are chicken skewers for $4.50, or even the seafood kushiyaki which includes grilled shrimp, scallop and squid for $6.

And for their house special rolls you can order the Katy roll which is a roll with snow crab and avocado inside topped with spicy salmon and crunchy flakes, or the fry roll which had crawfish, avocado, snow crab and Japanese mayonnaise for $10.50, or the scorpion which is shrimp tempura, cream cheese, jalapeno and topped with crab sticks and wasabi for $11. Or you can order from their all time specials such as the debate roll which is pepper tuna with asparagus and topped with white tuna and spicy sesame for $10, or the eel fortune which comes with jumbo shrimp tempura inside for $9.95, or even the Christmas roll (served year round) which includes spicy yellowtail, shrimp tempura, avocado, snow crab and topped with spicy mayonnaise and eel sauce for $11.95.

The great thing about this restaurant is that if you are not a sushi lover you have other choices and you can order the pork or chicken katsu which come lightly fried for $10, or the donburimon like the sake don which is salmon over rice for $12, or the yakitori don which is the grilled chicken skewers over rice for $8.50, or the yahiniku don which is Japanese style beef and vegetables over rice for $11 just to name a few. So if you are ever in the Katy area try the Sushi Hana restaurant.
