Preparing four-cheese pizza at home takes only minutes and it is absolutely delicious. You can use pizza dough shells, which can be purchased, at your grocery store. There is no need for rolling dough or having to allow the dough to sit overnight until it rises.
You will need 1 package of shredded mozzarella, 2 cups of shredded Monterey jack cheese, 2 cups of sharp cheddar cheese and 1 cup of pepper jack cheese, 2 pizza shells, 5 cups of tomato sauce, 2 tablespoons garlic powder and ¼ cup of extra light olive oil.
Take pizza shells add a generous amount of tomato sauce and 1 tablespoon garlic powder per pizza shell. Next, you want to add generous amounts of all three cheeses combined. Add a pinch of sea salt if desired.
Place pizza shells in a pre-heated 350-degree oven for 18-22 minutes or until crust turns a golden brown. Once pizza is removed from oven you can allow it to sit for about 5 minutes. Slice with a pizza cutter and serve it up.
You may add toppings such as pepperoni, sausage and bacon if desired. Leftover pizza will keep refrigerated for about 3-4 days. In addition, you can always freeze any left over pizza to be eaten at another time.
The cost of a plain cheese pizza ranges between $10-$12. Making three-cheese pizza at home will cost you about $8.50. You save money by making your own pizza and it tastes better than anything you order from a pizza place.
Once you get the hang of making your own pizza, you will have some room to experiment with different toppings.
