Every person comes to develop their own patterns for how they go about their days and live their lives. They develop their own ways of doing things. People develop patterns of how they spend their time and how they spend their energy. In other words, each person develops a lifestyle.
If you make a chart or simply write down lists of how you spend your time on a daily basis, this method will reveal a whole lot of information about your lifestyle. You could do this for one week to get a good sample of how you generally spend your time. Each week, you do many things that are actually characteristics of your lifestyle.
If you want to learn more about your own lifestyle, then you can use an entire sheet of paper for each day of the week that you will be recording. You can divide the sheet of paper with each half hour of the day. The beginning half hour will be that first half hour after you wake up. Every half hour of your day will be recorded until that day comes to an end.
There should be enough space in-between the half hour sections of your paper to record all of the activities that happen within that half hour. Record them carefully and don’t leave any activities out. Even if you were inactive at some points of the day, you can record that you were lounging around the house or sitting on the sofa. If you have a conversation with someone, you can include details about what that conversation was about. It’s a good thing to be more specific and add more details. If will create a more accurate record.
When you analyze your record at the end of the one week period, it will be very revealing. You’ll be able to better understand your lifestyle, what kind of person you are, how you go about your days, and what sort of habits you have.
