You can create your own little treasures to decorate your home. It’s so much more fun than simply buying things from a store. There are so many images you can create as you’re making your own fridgies. They can be used within any room of your household and they can be used in many different ways.
You can create displays with scenes of animals, flowers, or anything else that you wish to create with fridgies. You can create a fun and entertaining collection of images to decorate your child’s bedroom. To put fridgies on your wall, you can place a thumb tack on the wall and the magnet of the fridgie will stick to the thumb tack.
Butterflies, flowers, and mushrooms are some good ideas for images you can create while making your fridgies. Felt, art foam, velour craft paper, leather, suede, and vinyl are just some of the materials that you can use to create fridgies.
One thing that you can make with fridgies is a bouquet of flowers. Some good materials to use are: cooking crystals, clear and colored course granules, chenille stems, chenille bumps, powdered crystals, star molds, ends from double ended fake flower centers, and small magnetic strips.
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees. Sprinkle some course cooking crystals into the mold cavities. Then you can sprinkle colored granules on one of the star molds. If you use red granules, when the star melts, it will be a red spotted crystal. Sprinkle each star with your desired color that you would want them to be spotted as.
Cut off ends from the flower centers. Place one in the middle of each star. Place the end where the stem was down into the granules so that it will embed.
Place your molds into the oven and leave them there for about fifteen minutes. They should look glassy when they’re done. Watch them to make sure they don’t overcook. Remove them from the oven and let them cool off. They will make cracking noises, but that’s normal. If you want to shape your flowers, do it before they cool off.
You can use your other materials to help achieve the look you want your flowers to have. There’s so much you can do with this craft to achieve lovely little decorative treasures. Glue your bouquet of flowers to a magnet and put it where you want.
