How To Make Garlic Mash Potatoes

How to make garlic mash potatoes.This is one of my favorite I hope it will be one of yours.

You will need. 2 1/2 lb potatoes, 1 whole garlic bulb, 1 tablespoon olive oil,1/2 cup sour cream, 2 tablespoons butter, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 black pepper, fresh chives.

1. Preheat oven to 375 degress. Peel potatoes and cut into even sze pieces. Place in a large pot of lightly salted water. Bring to a boil then reduce the heat and simmer until the potatoes are cooked through about 20 minutes.

2. Meanwhile separate garlic cloves but do not peel them. Place in a medium bowl add olive oil and then toss to coat. Place on a baking sheet and roast in oven until softened, about maybe 10 minutes. Allow to cool slightly.

3. Drain the potatoes and then return to pot. Mash the potatoes slightly. Add sour cream and butter. Quickly squeeze pulp from garlic cloves into pot. Add salt and black pepper.

4. Mash the potatoes until combined and smooth. Transfer to a serving bowl. Cut chives into small pieces. Sprinkle over mashed potatoes in bowl. Serve. This dish is perfect to serve with chicken you can add it to your favorite vegetable side dish. For extra flavor try stir in some finely chopped green onions. I always add onions I think it makes it taste so good. What ever you prefer. If you want you can have if with pork chops. Any meat you want. I think when you bake the garlic it gives the potatoes a better taste.
