How to Make a Javanese Style Rice Salad

A third of a pound of rice

Half a pound of roasted turkey

One red pepper

One green pepper

Two bananas

Half a cup of cooking cream

Half a cup of yogurt (no flavor)

Two tablespoons of mayonnaise

Two tablespoons of ketchup

Soy sauce

One tablespoon of curry

Cayenne pepper

Powdered ginger

Wooden spoon

The ingredients used to make this rice salad may sound odd but the taste is very tropical and it is bound to fill you up for sure, the following recipe makes for four servings.

In a sauce pan bring to a boil one liter of water with a pinch of salt and cook the rice and drain it after fifteen minutes.

While you are waiting for the rice, cut the roasted turkey into strips, and clean the green and red peppers, cut them in half and take out the seeds, and cut them also into strips.

Next peel the bananas and cut them into slices and add them with the peppers and turkey to the rice and mix well.

Now prepare the sauce, in a bowl add the cooking cream with the yogurt and the mayonnaise and stir with a wooden spoon then add the ketchup and drizzle some soy sauce, and add the curry, a pinch of cayenne pepper and a pinch of ginger and salt.

Whisk the ingredients together to mix them well together, then pour on top of the rice and let it rest in the fridge for an hour before serving.
