How to Make a Veal Roast with Spices
1 kilo (a little over 2 pounds) of veal shoulder
½ cup of oil
2 tablespoons of butter
½ cup of walnuts
½ cup of creamy cheese
1 tarragon sprig
1 rosemary sprig
1 thyme sprig
1 glass of white wine
½ cup of cooking cream
This is a great dish to serve if you are having a dinner party or want to impress a date, it is time consuming but the finish product is delicious and soft. Make sure that when you buy the meat it is already rolled and tightened, that way it stays put once is being cooked.
First place the veal in a Pyrex pan in a hot oven and bake at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for an hour, and turning it a few times.
Next take out and let it cool down completely and cut it into slices.
Place the walnuts in a blender and mix completely so that it becomes of a powdery substance and place them in a bowl and add the creamy cheese and mix well until it is a homogeneous sauce. Then take each slice of veal and spread the sauce on it (only on one side). Now roll the veal in the vertical way (longitude wise) and place it back in the Pyrex pan.
Now clean and mince the sprigs (thyme, tarragon and rosemary) and then place the spices over the veal roast and drizzle with the glass of white wine.
And bake in the oven at450 degrees Fahrenheit for ten minutes, take it out and drizzle with the cooking cream and untie it before serving.
