Alright so this is the final part of my official 2010 NFL mock draft. As you may have noticed it’s full of offensive linemen and defensive players. The league has changed some here recently with many general managers now putting more stock on the defensive side of the ball. This is evident by the huge contracts received by players such as Julius Peppers and Albert Haynesworth.
23. Green Bay Packers – OT Charles Brown
24. Philadelphia Eagles – DE Everson Griffen
25. Baltimore Ravens – CB Kareem Jackson
26. Arizona Cardinals – CB Devin McCourty
27. Dallas Cowboys – OG Mike Iupati
28. San Diego Chargers – RB C.J. Spiller
29. New York Jets – WR Golden Tate
30. Minnesota Vikings – DT Brian Price
31. Indianapolis Colts – OG/OC Maurkice Pouncey
32. New Orleans Saints – DE Sergio Kindle
There are several offensive linemen in this group. The Green Bay Packers are a team that desperately need to get Aaron Rogers some help on the line because he has the talent and the weapons. The Cowboys are in a spot to take one of the best players on the board in Mike Iupati. The Colts usually go after linemen at the end of the first round and look for guys that are good at changing on the fly so Pouncey seems like a good pick.
The San Diego Chargers and New York Jets both have positions of need on the offensive side of the ball. I think that Golden Tate and C.J. Spiller are both good value at those spots and would provide some immediate help to quarterbacks like Phillip Rivers and Mark Sanchez. Before somebody in New York blasts me remember this is just my 2010 NFL mock draft.
The Vikings, Eagles, Cardinals and Ravens will all most likely go after the best defensive player on the board. I expect to see the Ravens and Cardinals go after defensive backs but the Cardinals may be looking at linebacker as well. Along those lines I think Sergio Kindle makes a ton of sense going to New Orleans who have needs at defensive end and outside linebacker. The Vikings would likely feel a position of need by taking either Brian Price or Terrence Cody to replace some aging veterans.
I hope you guys reading at home got some useful information and ideas from my 2010 NFL mock draft. Please feel free to leave any comments at the bottom of the page. I may decide to add a 2nd and 3rd round mock in the future as well. Be sure to check back and see how I done after it’s all been made official.
