Children begin to feel their sense of security through family members in the home and how they communicate with each other. As time goes by they will begin to pick up on the habits they have observed in the home.
This can cause children to lose their confidence and gain low self esteem. There are things you can do and things you can not do to ensure that your family will become and will stay secure and give your children a sense of security.

Step 1

  1. Keep your arguments behind closed doors
If ata all possible when parents argue, don’t do this in front of other family members. This will definately cause children to feel unsafe and insecure. They may even begin to blame themselves. Take your arguments in the bedroom or even go out for a walk alone to discuss the matter.

  2. Step 2

Try to avoid fighting over who’s right and who’s wrong in an argument. This is the wrong attitude for anybody to have. Children need to learn that there is no right or wrong in an argument because everyone is entitled to their own opinions and the way they feel.

  3. Step 3

If an agrument is known show other that there was a peaceful resolution
If there is a disagreement within the household and everyone is involved, they look for the parents to make a resolve and be fair. You must do just that, be fair and make a unbiased resolve and make family members aware of your decision and that you made it together.

  4. Step 4

  5. Avoid any forms of verbal abuse
Verbal abuse can and will eventually effect everyone in the household in different ways. It can cause some to began to abuse verbally as weel and it can cause some to adopt a sense of insecurity.
