Find a member of your tree with a remaining hint (you should see a leaf by their name). Hover over them and click on, “__ Ancestry Hints”. This will then take you to the page where you can see the hints.
Now you can see the different records that the person may have. Historical records as well as a compilation of information from other family trees may be shown. Click on “Attach Hint” to see a file.
Look over the record. If you wish to add it, select what you would like to add and press “Add To Your Tree”.
You will be taken back to the Hints page. At the top of the page, you will see, “You’ve successfully merged the following into your Ancestry Family Tree: .Added __ person/people .Modified __ person/people .Added sources to __ person/people”. This record will now show up when you look on the person’s profile. Before we check it out, go ahead and add any additional records you may want to add.
Go to the person’s profile. Now there are various ways to view the document. Scroll down the page. In the category (on the right-hand side) called “Historical Records”, you can see all of the historical records (birth, marriage, death, etc…). Now scroll back up. Next to “Birth”, “Death”, and “Marriage”, you can see how many sources stated this information. Click on the category “Facts and Sources”. Then click “Sources”. You can now see all of the different sources for that person.
