How to make the right decisions regarding alcohol use

There are many factors in a persons life that may cause them to make many bad decisions about the way they drink alcohol.

We see and hear stories about teenagers being victims of some kind because of alcohol. They are either drinking and end up doing something crazy or they encounter a drunk driver and become a victim of a drunk driving hit and run. We see way too much of the sad stories everyday. It’s the responsibility of the person who is drinking to be more responsible when they drink. If they are away from home they should consider appointing a designated driver, and when they are at home they still need to protect themselves and know how to drink safely. There are a few questions that you can ask yourself before you begin to drink. These are simple questions but as you answer them they make more sense.

  1. Step 1

    Is it advisable to drink alcohol or should I stay away from alcohol?
    If you are not old enough to drink or if your old enough and don’t know what your limit is, you should not drink

  2. Step 2

    How much should I be drinking?
    Determine how much you are able to drink before you begin to have a lose of judgement. Or in some cases black out completely.

  3. Step 3

    When is the right time to drink?
    Of course not before you are going to do any driving or anything that needs you to be fully alert. Of course if your pregnant stay away from alcohol and most importantly if you are taking any medications, prescribed or over the counter.

  4. Step 4

    Will I be alright drinking around certain people?
    You want to make sure wherever your drinking takes place you will be safe. Make sure you are with people you trust . In case of an emergency you are certain you will be taken care of.
