9. Cheating Tiger Woods
With all of the fame and success he has been having, he might have thought he could get away with a little fun on the side while his wife is at home. Apparently, there has been up to 14 women coming forward and saying they have had extramarital affairs with the famed golfer. If only he didn’t crash his SUV a few blocks from his house he would still be sailing high above the media scandal.
8. Oprah Winfrey Show coming to a close
In late November, Oprah Winfrey announced on her show that it will end after 25 years on television. Don’t worry though, it won’t happen until 2011 so you still have a chance to see the women do her thing.
7. Rude Kanye West
In September, the drunk Kanye West was not having fun when he heard that the country artist, Taylor Swift, won the Best Female Video award over Beyonce at the VMA’s. Though he did “LET HER FINISH” it still didn’t excuse such a rude and arrogant act.
6. The Infamous Ponzie, Bernie Madoff
In late June, Bernie Madoff was sentence to over 100 years in prison after being discovered that he defrauded over $65 billion of investors money. This was the largest ponzie scam ever to be discovered. No wonder we’re all having tough times, thanks to guys like Madoff.

5. The Death of MJ
Probably one of the most shocking things that occurred in 2009 was the death of the acclaimed pop star, Michael Jackson. As we turn on our televisions on June 25, 2009, we see the the dreaded words “King of Pop, Dead at 50” flash across the screen. Although we never got to see the actual concert, the filmed documentary was an extraordinary look into the process of how a King prepares a show. MJ will always be missed.

In March of 2009, the social networking site become one of the largest growing sites of the year. It came to over 50 million visitors per month that year and continuous to grow.
3. Chris Brown and Rihanna
The couple seemed like a match made in heaven. Two beautiful young pop stars having a lovely relationship until we find out that there was a huge ‘domestic dispute’ between the two. Their relationships ended, one remained in the lime life while the other was picking up trash on the freeway.

In mid January, US Airways pilot Chesley Sullenberger landed a plane that was going to crash in the Hudson River. He saved 155 passengers that day and was as humble as ever about what he did. He is the true hero of 2009.

On January 20th, Barack Obama is elected the 44th President of the United States of America. It doesn’t seem like a big deal on paper, but he is the first African-America to be given the role of Commander-in-Chief. It’s amazing how far America has come.
