Sirloin Tip a la Mode is a special recipe for special people. Make this for your next dinner party!
I am putting up recipes from my vast collection that are unusual, hard to find, or are just different in case any searchers are looking for hard to find recipes they remember from childhood that are lost. So far, the recipes I’m putting up are getting lots of views, so I will keep going at it.
This recipe looks great to serve to guests or family too, anytime. Have fun making sirloin tip a la mode and Happy Cooking!
Take a 1 pound sirloin steak and cut it into strips 1 1/2 inches long and 1/8 inch wide. Put strips in a bowl.
Combine 1/3 C Sherry, 1/2 t. Soy Sauce, and 1/4 t. ginger. Stir and pour over beef strips. Cover and allow to marinate in refrigerator for at last 1 hour. Drain and reserve the marinade.
Melt 2 T. butter in a fry pan. Add beef strips. Brown evenly. Add a 13 oz. can undrained mushrooms and 1 package Birds Eye frozen peas and pearl onions in pan. Cover and cook until the vegetables are tender.
Combine 1 1/2 T corstarch, 1 t. salt, dash of pepper, 3/4 C water, and the reserved marinade. Stir until smooth. Add to meat mixture and cook slowly, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Serve on top of buttered mashed potatoes, noodles or rice. Serves 4 – 6.
