The first step in making your credit report stronger is to make changes in your lifestyle which includes your spending habits. Making these changes should be your main focus as your trying to establish a strong credit report.Depending on the severity of credit trouble you may have changing the appearance of your credit report can be done by using one or all of the following methods: Updating your credit report, Adding new Aaccounts to your credit report, Deleting accounts from your credit report, Changing delinquent payments into good payments, and knowing where to send letters for these actions.

  1. Step 1

    Updating your credit report and credit file
    This is an important part when trying to maintain a good a good credit rating. A lender can base a credit worthiness decision on discrepancies between the information you provide on a credit application and the information on your credit report. That’s why it is important to keep your credit information up to date.
    Update is needed if you have made any of these changes in your life:
    Change your name -first , last, or spelling
    Change marital status-divorced, married,seperated
    Change residence
    Change employment
    Change in Social Security number or name
    Change the status of bankrutcy-type,discharge,reaffirmation

    Constantly be aware of your credit situation. If your credit report already reflects late or missing payments you can have those delinquent payments changed into good payments. The only way to do this is to contact the lender and come up with a reasonable action plan that will benefit both parties.

    You make a late payment due to: divorce, employment loss, illness etc.
    You can’t make the monthly payment
    Your account is turned over to a collection agency
