Do a Layered Haystack Church Supper

A Layered Haystack Church Supper is a great meal to serve at a small church gathering. Everyone brings one of the items and you put them all on a big table and guests layer on the ingredients on their plates and eat! Yummy! Fun, Food, and Fellowship at its best!!

I am putting up recipes from my vast collection that are unusual, hard to find, or are just different in case any searchers are looking for hard to find recipes they remember from childhood that are lost. So far, the recipes I’m putting up are getting lots of views, so I will keep going at it. Have fun and Happy Cooking!

Step 1

Have people attending your Haystack supper bring the following items (amounts depend on the number of people you are feeding). Leftovers are great though or individual foods are just as easy to tote home!

Step 2

Saltine Crackers, roughly crushed

Corn Chips, broken in half

Sour CreamSalsa

Homemade Chili

Chopped Onions

Diced Tomatoes

Cooked Rice

Sliced Black Olives

Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Diced Green Pepper

Shredded Lettuce

Step 3

When you layer this on your plate, Mix it all together and eat. You will LOVE it! It is filling, so watch how much you take of each item—it adds up fast and makes a big mountain of food! Don’t let your eyes be bigger than your stomach.

Step 4

You may want servers to dish up the food. Noone will leave hungry!
