I am not a coffee lover at all, but I love this punch. You will too! The chocolate ice cream in it really makes it special. It is great served at showers or weddings.
I am putting up recipes from my vast collection that are unusual, hard to find, or are just different in case any searchers are looking for hard to find recipes they remember from childhood that are lost. So far, the recipes I’m putting up are getting lots of views, so I will keep going at it.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 2 C boiling water
- 1/2 C instant coffee granules
- 3 T. cocoa powder
- 1/3 C sugar
- 1 quart whole Milk
- 1/2 gallon chocolate ice cream
- whipped cream
- chocolate curls and or chocolate syrup
- punch bowl and ladel
- Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 C. boiling water and 1/2 C instant coffee granules. Stir well to dissolve.
- Step 2
Stir in 3 T. cocoa powder, 1/3 C sugar, and 1 quart of whole Milk. Mix well and chill in refrigerator until very cold.
- Step 3
Before serving, Pour coffee mixture into punch bowl and add scoops of slightly softened chocolate ice cream (1/2 gallon). Stir ice cream into the punch a little for the chocolate flavor, but leave balls floating on top too.
- Step 4
Serve punch into cups. Garnish with a spray of canned whipped cream and chocolate curls or chocolate syrup. Serve immediately. Makes 3 – 4 quarts.
