Three-Eyed Monsters

They impede the people’s progress,

They infuriate the rushing businessman,

But they won’t stop those in distress,

Though they’ll stop you whenever they can.

They change around and bring a park

To little cars and even big trucks

And disobedience to this standing monarch

Brings sirens and fines, you pay your bucks.

They stand alone through hours of darkness,

Their silent vigil is never-ending,

They are programmed to carry much stress

In the semaphore message they’re sending.

Their colour is quite indistinct,

Do you not know what I speak about?

The answer my friend is quite succinct

And diverting you route removes all doubt.

End of Poem…………………………………….
