European Cup history and winners – part I

I bet you all remember the tense penalty shootout between Chelsea and Manchester United in last Champions Leagues final. But do you know that the tournament (previously called Champions Cup) has been here since 1955 – organized and inspired by French journalist (and L’Equipe editor) Gabriel Hanot? In the first final, played at Parc de Prince of Paris, the fine Real Madrid beat Stade Reims 4-3 in a dramatic game. Below is the list o all the European Cup and Chamions League winners:
