How to save money by shopping at Discount Outlets.

Comparative shopping has become very important to many Americans since the troubled economy took hold of the nation. It is important to try to cut corners any way possible until the economy shows signs of improvement. I have found that purchasing certain items at discount stores can save a substantial amount of money. I would like to share my experience with you.

I found that purchasing certain items at WalMart will save the consumer an average of $0.20- $0.30 on the dollar possibly more. Purchasing a package of Oscar Myer Hotdogs at Walmart will cost about $1.99, as opposed to $2.69 in the grocery store, a savings of almost one dollar. In addition, items such as milk, eggs, and juice can be purchased at WalMart at a fraction of a cost.

Toiletries such as deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, and make-up offer a substantial savings in comparison with grocery store prices. Purchasing a name brand roll deodorant at WalMart will cost approximately $2.79-$3.00. If you purchase these same items at a grocery store chain expect to pay between $3.00-$4.29.

VO5 Shampoo and Conditioner at WalMart will run you between $0.89-$0.99, in the grocery store expect to pay about $1.79 an up. A tube of Colgate Toothpaste at WalMart runs between $299-$399, grocery store prices for the same item will cost between $3.29-$.4.79.

If you have pets, WalMart sells food for both cats and dogs. You can purchase name brand food at WalMart and save about $0.79- $1.25. Many times these special prices are not advertised, it is up to the consumer to take the initiative and check this out on your own.

Finally, I do believe the saying “a Penny saved is a Penny earned”. It is especially important to cut back any way possible. The unstable economy is scary to say the least and as Americans we must look out for our own interest and the well being of our family.
