Buy and use shampoo and conditioner for your specific type of hair. If you have oily hair, buy shampoo specifically targeted for oily hair. Do the same if you have dry hair, brittle hair, etc. If you’re not sure which shampoo and conditioner to use, ask your hairdresser.
Brush your hair 2-3 times a day in a downward motion! By brushing gently, it helps distribute the oil from the scalp to the hair shaft, giving you a healthy shine.
Make sure that you do not brush your hair while it is wet. Wet hair is much weaker than dry hair and tends to break easily if not combed gently.
If you have long hair , make sure that you do not rub your hair between a towel as this can cause breakage. Instead, use a wide-tooth comb to gently brush downwards.
Let your hair dry naturally! If you use a blow dryer or hair straightener, it tends to damage your hair and become brittle and frizzy. Keep your hair away from extensive heat to avoid your hair from splitting.
If you swim, make sure that you wear a cap to protect your hair from chlorine. Chlorine can damage your hair and tangle it up. Do the same thing if you go swimming in the ocean as sea water has the same effects of damaging hair.
