Motivation to Keep That Weight Loss Resolution

Well we are now two weeks into the New Year and statics show that most people have given up on achieving their goals for the new year.  Most people make one or two mistakes, fall back into old habits and do not try to start over again till next year.  Well I decided to help keep some of you going by giving you just a few articles here to check out.

The first is a list of the 20 Worst Foods in America 2009 .  As you click down the sides of each one and see the list of the worst foods.  It is amazing that some of them most people don’t even think twice about ordering when going out anymore.  We have become so much the more more more and now now now. That we have forgotten about the why why why.  Why do that to yourself? Okay so lets say that you don’t eat out at most of the places on the list for the 20 worst foods.  Then check out this article about the 5 unhealthiest value menu items .

If your discouraged now, don’t be.  There is hope.  You can start the change in lifestyle any time, it does not have to be New Year’s and you could have slipped off the wagon.  No one cares, the real goal is to stop eating these things and finding a better way to eat and live.  I have always loved the quote, “Eat to live, not live to eat.”  We all have our reasons why we eat the things we do.  It could be that something is eating us (emotions, trauma) or we just we raised that way or we never have time.  But those are excuses and ones we have to confront in order to live better lives.

If you really need motivation.  Then you could try catching the Biggest Loser season 7 on NBC.  I find that watching how someone thinks and how the trainers connect to fixing their problems with food and exercise both inspiring and fasinating.  The human psych is really amazing how the puzzle pieces fit together.  The trainers give tips to the audience and you find so many different contestants points of view, that you find some one to relate too.  This season they have their heaviest contestants ever and they also have their oldest and youngest contestants.  Check it out if you get the chance.

And if you are looking for ways to fix dinner and your eating habits, then check out this book . It is one of the cookbooks with recipes from the Biggest Loser.  It gives details on how to eat, what to eat and why, what to do when you feel like giving up.  And the most important recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, sides, and desserts.  How can you go wrong with so much there designed to help you?

Most important of all those is to be good to yourself.  Do not get angry when you make a mistake or indulge, heck everyone does.  Just go on and get back to eating right the next meal or just go for a walk tonight, or tomorrow.  Have fun, enjoy the things that you plan to do. Make your changes fun and do not see them as a diet or exercise, but more an experiment in trying new things that make you feel good inside and out.
